Our Approach
Most often, the people who know best how to approach a problem are those living with the actual problem. So what keeps local actors from actually implementing their solutions? Its a complex issue- but one we have solutions for.
Firstly, we embed alongside communities. Unlike some organizations which may have nice offices in a big city somewhere we much prefer to get into the field to understand the problem from the perspective of those living it and working on it.
Secondly, we look at global health problems from a holistic approach. “The problem is rarely the problem” (as a wise pirate once said) “its your attitude about the problem, thats the problem.” While our work is a little more complicated than that, the quote elucidates a great point- global health problems are rarely unifocal and often have overarching complex social, political and financial drivers that all play a crucial role. And while addressing the problem may initially bring some relief- failure to address the problematic ecosystem will only allow the problem to continue, or shift.
